PourCraft Privacy Policy

PourCraft ("we", "our", or "the app") is a coffee brewing companion for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we collect:

Display Name — used to identify you as an author on community recipes and comments
Email Address — used for account identification
User ID — a unique identifier assigned by Firebase Authentication
Profile Photo URL — if provided by your sign-in provider

You may also use the app as a guest without creating an account. Guest users cannot publish recipes or post comments.

User-Created Content

When you publish a recipe or post a comment, the following is stored in our cloud database (Firebase Firestore):

Recipe details (title, description, brew parameters, steps)
Comments and upvotes
Your display name and user ID (associated with your content)

On-Device Data

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers:

Brew log entries
Saved/favorited recipes
Coffee bean inventory
Equipment and grinder settings
User preferences and app settings

2. How We Use Your Information

Display Name	Show authorship on community recipes and comments
Email Address	Account identification and authentication
User ID	Associate your content (recipes, comments, upvotes) with your account
User-Created Content	Display in the community feed for other users

3. Third-Party Services

PourCraft uses the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — for user sign-in via Apple and Google. Firebase Privacy Policy

4. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your location
We do not use analytics or crash reporting SDKs
We do not serve advertisements
We do not track you across other apps or websites
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties

5. Bluetooth

PourCraft may request Bluetooth access to connect to compatible coffee equipment (e.g., Decent DE1 espresso machine). Bluetooth data is used solely for device communication and is not stored or transmitted.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your community content (recipes, comments) is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your own recipes from within the app. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

PourCraft is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
